A La Carte in the Park

Southport

The Gold Coast's premier food and wine event.

Restaurant & Catering Queensland presents this wine and food festival by the beautiful Broadwater at Southport to showcase the multi-cultural cuisine and local produce that is available on the Gold Coast.

Restaurateurs, caterers and wine merchants will gather to participate at this special event to sell their cuisine and wine at a very small price to the public, ($3 to $8 per plate) from 10am to 4pm.

The multi-cultural cuisine on offer ranges from Australian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Mexican, Italian and Vietnamese to Seafood, Steak and Pancake Restaurants.

A La Carte on the Park is a free event where the whole family can enjoy live bands, face painting, clowns and entertainment, whilst sampling the fabulous food and wines of the Gold Coast.

Make a weekend of it, enjoy the food, wine and entertainment during the day at A La Carte on the Park, and then experience all that the Gold Coast has to offer.

Southport information

Southport Broadwater dominates this suburb, a superb natural protected waterway used for boating, watersports, swimming and fishing. Wander along walkways, go cycling or view the play of light on the water – the largest expanse of calm water in Australia.

Southport has developed a reputation as a holiday destination from the 1890s. Brisbane residents heard of an excellent fishing and seaside location – favoured even by then Queensland Governor Sir Anthony Musgrave. At that time steamers and cutters plied the area and the kiosk baths were built. Major landmarks still standing include the exclusive St Hilda’s School, The Southport School and the Court House.

Southport and neighbouring Labrador have been the suburbs of renewed residential development.
