Surfers Paradise information
Originally this suburb was the site for the Bundall Sugar Plantation. Later the land was sub-divided and used for dairy farming.
Now, the suburb is a major site for city landmarks – the Gold Coast Arts Centre which features a theatre, art gallery and arts café is the largest regional arts and entertainment complex in regional Australia.
Gold Coast City Council has a major administrative centre and corporate offices are situated in a cluster. Evandale Sculpture Walk near Gold Coast Art Centre gets you outside and art loving. The Historic Museum is open on the first Sunday of the month March to November at Elliott Street
