It's a culture... 

The Royal Pines Resort Challenge tees off weekly on a Tuesday and is great value at only $79 per person including green fees, competition fees, electric cart and a gift from sponsor Srixon.

Played over 18-holes the Challenge is open to all male, female and junior golfers with an Official Golflink Handicap.

Weekly winners of each division will play in the annual Grand Final, and, with the winner of the 2007 final taking home a $11,000 E-Z-GO Golf Cart, this year is set to be even bigger and better than ever.

Once a farming property named by the Hicks family after a property in England, Ashmore is now a residential suburb with an array of sports facilities.

Nearby golf courses include the 27-hole Royal Pines Resort Golf Course, 18-hole Parkwood International Golf Course and Arundel Hills private golf course.

There are Gold Coast city bikeway links, skating facilities and an award-winning accommodation park. Gold Coast TAFE has a campus in this region. www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/cycling

Neighbouring Parkwood is close to Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus. A major tavern has dining and nightclub facilities.

Head south to reach another sports resort,Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Golf Resort & Spa hosted the Mondial Australian Women's Hardcourt Championships in January 2008 and the ANZ Ladies Masters in February 2008.
